INTERNACIONAL INFORMATION

A 16-year-old student has cut his veins in school with a cutter of the workshop of technology. The reason was that the girl was submitted to a lot of pressure from a group of other pupils. The fact has happened today, May 29, 2008, in a school in Sant Antoni de Calonge. The school has been closed because of the tragedy. The teenager was coming from Africa and she came to Catalunya a long time ago. Her family are very sad and the government is giving them their support. Bullying is very frequent between the young people. It's a very worrying case.

INTERVIEW

Louanne and the interviwer

-Welcome to the program, Louanne. How are you?

-Oh, hello to everybody! Very well, thanks.

-Why did you decided to go to work in that school?

-Well, I suppose that I wanted to make a change in my life, and after divorcing to my husband, I needed it. I wanted to make some things for other people, and what more beneficial than to deal with adolescents?

-You demostrate us all that you are not a not at all an egoistic person. Yes and it's very rewarding to work with adolescents, but also it must be complicated, isn't it?

-Yes, the adolescents go through a difficult stage in all the senses: love, friendship, drugs, alcohol... it's a diffcult age, you know and also they were people who needed that somebody paid them attention and their smiles after all are very pleasant.

-I suppose that in addition to these symptoms, they also have familiar problems.

-Yes, many of these boys have conflicting families. Like Emilio.

-How long have you been teaching?

-It is about 15 years, but I have never taught to so conflicting adolescents.

-You felt like defendant at some moment?

-When I began to work, a little, yes, but I suppose that it's difficult for everybody. They did not accept my presence, it was difficult to gain their confidence. They are a little rebelious but with a great heart.

-I wouldn't like to enter you private life, but what was the reason why you wanted to make a change in your life?

-Well, that's a vey personal question, but I only say that I had marriage problems and because of that, I had an abortion.

-Thank you very much for coming and for explaining moments to us of your interesting life.

-Thanks to you for inviting me, and if I have explained you these moments of my life it's because I think it's important.

THE BEST SCENE

In this scene, the teacher goes to house of a pupil, Callie, since this wants to go to a center to learn to be a mother. The teacher Louanne, does not want this to abandon the school because she believes that she is a girl with a great intellectual capacity. Here they argue and they reflect on the life in general and about them in particular.

L- Callie, just don't throw away all you can become.

C- Kimboley was so right. He was so right. He told me that you'd probably try to talk me out of this.

You want to know that else he said? He said that you probably don't even like men and that you're probably not married and you don't want anybody else to be. That's why you're always in everybodys else's life. Look, I'm not saying that I agree with him okay?

L- Well, Kimboley's wrong.

I was married and I was pregnant...

C- So what happened?

L- We got divorced and I had an abortion... He beat me.

Well, sometimes you start out wrong and just keep going.

Wade Dominguez

Wade Robert Dominguez was born on 10 May 1986 in Northern California. He was dead in Los Angeles, California, on 26 August 1998 because he had got a respiratory failure. While on a modeling assignment in Italy he landed an American soap Opera.

Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Pfeiffer was born on 29th April 1958 in Santa Ana, California. She grew up with her mother (Donna Pfeiffer) and her father (Richard Pfeiffer). Donna was a homemaker, and Richard Pfeiffer was and air conditioning contractor.
Her first major screen role was in 1980 in the films The Hollywood Knights and Falling in Love Again. However, both films failed to get have success.
